Common Name: Vaboula, Babbula, Indian gum Arabic,Nallatumma, Peetapushpa.
 
Plant name: Acacia Arabica.
Chemical constituents:  Acacia Arabica  contains gallic acid, m-digallic acid,(+)-catechin, chlorogenic acid, gallolyated flavan-3,4-diol and robidandiol (7,3′,4’5′,-tetrahydroxyflavan-3,4-diol)1.
Uses:
·         Good remedy for hair fall, earache, syphilis, cholera, dysentery, leprosy and rinderpest.
·         The bark is cooling, astringent, demulcent, anthelmintic, cures skin diseases.
·         It prevents bleeding piles, urinary and vaginal discharges and useful in diabetes.
·         Useful to asthma and bronchitis.
·         It is also used for tub bath in rectal prolapse and for gargles in oral disorders.
·         Balances vata, pitta and kapha doshas.
·         Gum is useful for sore throat.
·         Paste of this plant is used as reliever in hot inflammations
·         The decoction of this plant cures leucorrhoea.
·         Leaf has good affect on bruised infection and itch.
·         It also prevents spermatorrhoea, nocturnal emissions and leucorrhoea.
Internal use :Useful in diarrhoea, dysentery, piles, helminthiasis, bleeding disorders, cough and urinary disorders. Gum is used in dysuria and loss of libido. In premature ejaculation. powder of raw legume and sugar is found useful.
External use :A blood purifier, haemostatic, vasoconstricting and healing property. Its powder is sprinkled on burnt injuries and bleeds. Decoction of bark is used for uttar basti (enema through vagina) in leucorrhoea.
